
A service was conducted yesterday to name an Afghan checkpoint after a British soldier who was killed in 2009. A plaque was placed at Check Point Loughran-Dickson in memory of Sergeant Robert Loughran-Dickson who was killed in action on 18 November 2009. The service was conducted by the padre based at Lashkar Gah and was attended by colleagues and friends of Sergeant Loughran-Dickson from the Royal Military Police, as well as the Afghan Chief of Police for the Bolan district of Helmand province.
