Inquest into the death of Terry Jupp
The Guardian has reported on the conclusion of the inquest into the death of Defence Science and Technology Laboratory scientist Terry Jupp in 2002. The newspaper claims Mr Jupp and his colleagues were attempting to learn whether Al-Qaeda could develop a radiological dispersal device or 'dirty bomb'. This is untrue. Terry Jupp and his colleagues were not engaged in this kind of work. No radioactive material was involved in the trial and this was not the purpose of the trial. This speculation was not raised during the inquest.
