At this year's Exercise Spartan Hike, the annual UK Regional and Territorial Army Ski Championships, around 370 competitors descended on the small villages of Villeneuve and Le Monetier in the Serre Chevalier valley in the French Alps to compete in individual and team events in both Alpine and Nordic skiing across a ten-day period. For the 140 Alpine skiers it was Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G and Downhill. For the remaining 230 Nordic skiers it was 4 x 5km Cross Country Relay, 15km Team and Individual Classic, Individual and Team Biathlons and a Military Patrol Race.
