On 25 January 2013 past and present members of the Royal Air Force's 57 Squadron laid to rest their former colleague Alfie Fripp, who at 98 was the UK's oldest surviving prisoner of war. In 1939 Sergeant Fripp was an observer with 57 Squadron, flying air reconnaissance missions over Germany when his Bristol Blenheim aircraft was shot down. Pictured here, current aircrew of Number 57 (Reserve) Squadron based at RAF Wyton act as pallbearers, carrying the coffin of their forefather into Ruislip Crematorium in Middlesex.
