Image of the Day: 2 May 2012

Troops from the Royal Gibraltar Regiment have been performing ceremonial duties in London and taking part in a two-week exercise at a military training area near Folkestone in Kent during a visit to the UK. The regiment's logistic support team were responsible for the transporting (from Gibraltar) of uniforms, personnel and the band's instruments, arranging food and accommodation for the troops and transportation whilst in the UK, and then returning everything to Gibraltar at the end of the tour. Yesterday, Her Majesty The Queen had three Diamond Jubilee engagements when she reopened the Cutty Sark, officially named the Jubilee row-barge 'Gloriana', and then visited a Jubilee exhibition at the National Maritime Museum. The Queen's day in Royal Greenwich ended when members of the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery escorted Her Majesty and Prince Philip down College Walk to a private lunch at the museum.
