Yes you can. You can include a photo, and you can state your trade or occupation within the Services/MOD. Make sure that you keep within any local security guidelines (for example, any connection with SF or NI must not be disclosed) and the separate security guidance in Annex C of the Online Engagement Guidelines.

Do I need to get clearance for everything I publish online?

Can I express my views online?
Yes. For example you can post on bulletin boards, join in with campaigns or sign a petition. However, if you do take part in a campaign, though, you should not use your rank (i.e. use Mr Smith not Major Smith) or indicate you are an MOD Civil Servant as this could be taken by other readers as official endorsement. You should be careful not to make attributable comments on controversial matters. If you wish to start a poll, petition or other campaign which relates to Defence or the Armed Forces, seek permission first.
Can I edit Wikis?
Yes, if you have something useful to contribute. However, you shouldn't edit material relating to your work 'officially' unless authorised.
Do I have to use my own name when I'm online?
No. You can act anonymously or pseudonymously in a personal capacity where appropriate but must:
